Shiron Roberts Fisher
ASHLAND, KY - Shiron Roberts Fisher, 63, went peacefully to the Lord on October 15, 2013 at Kings Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Kentucky, after a long illness.
Shiron was born September 26, 1950 in Columbus, Georgia to L.J. and Joyce Roberts. In 1955, her family moved to Albany, GA. After graduating from high school in 1968, she went Darton State College, where she received an Associate of Arts degree, and went to work with Southern Bell. She married John A. Minnick, relocating with him to Pompano Beach, Florida, where she bore their son, John M. Minnick, in 1972. Subsequently, they were divorced.
Shiron worked a variety of different positions at Southern Bell (BellSouth). Her job relocated her to Jacksonville, Florida in 1982. There she married Robert Neil Fisher in 1984. She received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Nova-Southeastern University in 1994. After retiring from BellSouth in 2000, she and Neil moved to Ashland, Kentucky in 2005. She worked for the City of Ashland as a Customer Service Representative for almost five years before she had to separate from city employment.
In retirement, Shiron enjoyed being with her family, traveling, and reading.
Her family writes: “Shiron had a huge heart which allowed her to love and care for her family and close friends very fiercely. The hole she leaves by her passing will never be filled but sustained by the moments of love and generosity her spirit gifted those who were fortunate to have the opportunity to be a part of her life.”
She is mourned and survived by her husband, Robert Neil Fisher; Son, John M. Minnick; Father, L.J. Roberts; Stepmother, Venice Roberts; Sister, Beth Teixeira; and Brother, Britt Roberts.
