ALBANY — Aretavis Washington, 28, has been charged with aggravated assault for the shooting of Demetrius Spann, 35, on Saturday, police officials say.
According to a report by Phyllis Banks, spokeswoman for the Albany Police Department, Spann received a gunshot wound to his neck at 1225 E. Roosevelt Ave. about 4 a. m. After being questioned by Robbery/Homicide detectives, Washington was charged and transported to the Dougherty County Jail, Banks said.
Officials say Spann was transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital and is listed in stable condition.
