SYLVESTER - The funeral services for the late Mrs. Lessie M. Brown of 201 King Street, Sylvester, Georgia, who departed this life on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Phoebe Worth Medical Center in Sylvester, Georgia, will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. from the Macedonia Baptist Church in Sylvester, Georgia, with the pastor, Reverend Lester Knox, officiating. Burial will follow in the Shepard Memorial Garden Cemetery in Sylvester, Georgia.

Mrs. Lessie Mae Robinson Brown was born on June 27, 1916 in Ft. Valley, Georgia to the late Reverend and Mrs. Johnny and Leila Ransom Robinson. Later in her life, she relocated to Sylvester, Georgia.

Early in her life, Lessie gave her life to Christ and joined the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Shingler, Georgia.

She was married to the late Arthur Brown, Sr. on February 13, 1937. This union was blessed with eight children. Lessie worked as a housewife, caring for her husband and family.

Lessie leaves to cherish her memories her seven children, Eugene (Kate) Robinson, Deloris (Maurice) Jenkins, Othia Williams, Johnny Mack Brown, all of Sylvester, Georgia, Arthur (Helen) Brown of Augusta, Georgia, Dian (George) Thomas, Larry Brown, both of Atlanta, Georgia; twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-six great grandchildren; a son-in-law, Samuel T. Fields of Albany, Georgia; a brother-in-law, Luther Leroy Brown of Moultrie, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
