Velma Irene Shiver Hall
ALBANY - Mrs. Velma Irene Shiver Hall formerly of Albany died peacefully in Macon at the home of daughter Gail Hall Mann and son-in-law Raleigh Mann on October 8, 2013.
Her funeral service will be Saturday 12 Noon at Kimbrell-Stern with interment in Crown Hill Cemetery. Rev. Charles Jones and Rev. Charlie Brown will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday 11 to 12 Noon at Kimbrell-Stern.
Born in the Red Rock Community of Worth County, Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her parents, I. L. and Beulah Shiver, her husband of 66 years, Jack Earl Hall, a sister and four brothers.
She is survived by her twin sister, Thelma Bowen, daughter, Gail Hall Mann and husband Raleigh, Macon; son, Tony Hall and wife Angeline of Carrollton; grandchildren, Jason Hall (Steve), Wyn Hall (Aubry), Ashlee Mann Ligarde (Jeff) and MiAnne Mann Smith (Casey); great grandchildren, Mary Gail Ligarde, Payton Raleigh Smith, another on the way; many in laws, nieces and nephews.
Velma was a long time member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church where she and her late husband Earl taught a Baptist Training Union children’s class for many years. She was a member of the J.O.Y. Sunday School Class, enjoyed traveling with the Happy Hearts at Byne. Mrs. Hall volunteered for Meals on Wheels, served as a voting poll officer and was active with the Cub Scouts.
Velma’s wonderful and positive attitude in all things was a life-long trademarks even during her last days. The family would like to thank her wonderful caregivers and their staff Dr. Roberta Andrews, Dr. Linda K. Hendricks, Dr. Amy Kingman, the Central Georgia Cancer Center and Pine Pointe Hospice and Palliative Care.
