Business executive speaks to ASU business students

ALBANY — As family and friends return home exhausted from homecoming festivities, some Albany State University College of Business students returned to the classroom to learn from an accomplished alumna the strategies for success after graduation.

Mia Francois, merchandise assistant for Belk, offered insight on Monday in Peace Hall about the importance of building strong relationships.

“Go above and beyond to succeed. Nothing will be given to you without work,” said the 2009 marketing graduate, explaining the meaning of hard work coupled with perseverance.

She also encouraged students to monitor their social media interactions because employers examine the sites during the hiring process.

While at ASU, Francois was active in SIFE, the Marketing Club and Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society in business. She was also Second Attendant to Miss Albany State University 2008-09 and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
