Former President Jimmy Carter is not scheduled to teach Sunday School this Sunday at Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains.


Arcadia Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate the fourth anniversary of its pastor, the Rev. Dr. Lamar Ward, at 11 a.m. Sunday. The Rev. Roderald Carter, assistant pastor of First Monumental Ministries, will bring the morning message. The guest church and the pastor for the 3 p.m. service will be Mt. Hebron Baptist Church. Rev. Edward Heath will deliver the anniversary sermon. Dinner will be served following the afternoon service.

Grace and Hope Covenant Church will host revival services Nov. 5-10. Services are planned at 7:30 p.m. each date except Nov. 10 when the service will be at noon. The theme is “Women on the Move for Christ.” A Women on the Move for Christ program is planned at 4 p.m. Sunday. The church is located at 309 N. Washington St.

Gray Chapel Church is celebrating its 88th anniversary with a clothing giveaway from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday. The church is located at 1918 Oakhaven Drive just past Southwest Georgia Regional Airport. The church’s evangelism ministry will prepare bag lunches for all who attend. All items will be free.
