C. E. Thomlinson, Jr.
ALBANY - Dr. C. E. Thomlinson, Jr. died Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Phoebe Sumter Hospital in Americus.
His funeral service will be Thursday 11 AM at Crown Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 10 to 10:45 AM at Kimbrell-Stern.
A native of Lake City, SC, Dr. Thomlinson had lived in Albany since 1960 and attended the University of South Carolina and graduated from Emory University with a degree in Dentistry. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict reaching the rank of Captain.
Dr. Thomlinson was a member of Radium Springs Baptist Church, American Legion and a former member of the Albany Rotary Club. He was preceded in death by his wife Julia Thomlinson and sons, Tyler L. Thomlinson and Timothy Thomlinson.
Survivors include his son Chris Thomlinson, III and wife Cheryll, Dahlonega; grandchildren, Jill Goodman, Anna Lee Thomlinson, Samuel Thomlinson, Christopher Thomlinson; great grandchild Alex Thomlinson and a daughter in law Mrs. Tyler “Dee Williams” Thomlinson of Mitchell County.
