SYLVESTER — The driver of semitrailer truck was killed on highway 520 Monday when his rig left the highway and crashed against some nearby trees. Senior Trooper Darryl Benton with the Georgia State Patrol said Richard Paul Dumoulin, 67, was headed east near the Tift County line when his 18-wheeler crossed the median and traveled down an embankment. Dumoulin was pronounced dead at the scene, Benton said.
According to Benton, Dumoulin was driving for DeMott Peanut Company of Doerun when the accident occurred. There were no other injuries or vehicles involved, Benton said, but one lane of traffic was blocked off to remove the semitrailer from the scene.
