SYLVESTER - The funeral services for the late Mr. Breon Manuel of 217 Pebble Hill Circle, Sylvester, Georgia, who departed this life on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Phoebe Worth Medical Center in Sylvester, Georgia, will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. from the St. Paul Baptist Church in Isabella, Ga., with the Rev. Nick Hillery, officiating, Rev. Terrell Carter, Eulogist. Burial will follow in the Shepard Memorial Garden Cemetery in Sylvester, Georgia.
Odgen Breon Manuel was born on October 7, 1957, in Worth County, Georgia.
Odgen was affectionately known to many as “Breon”. Breon began his education in the Worth County school system. After high school, he joined the United States Army. He served his country for nine years and traveled to places like Germany and Korea .
At an early age he turned his life over to God and was baptized at FGIC formerly St. John A.M.E. church. He continued to serve God and became a devoted member of the usher board where he was passionately served as the “Head Usher”. He always served his position faithfully anytime he attended other churches, including Jacksonville, Fl.
Breon married Jacqueline Hooks on October 24, 2010, in Sylvester, Ga.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted and loving wife Jacqueline Manuel; five children Latoria Smith of Moultrie Georgia, Desrick Manuel of Albany Georgia, Corey Hooks, Shameka Thomas, Ashley Thomas all of Sylvester Georgia; Eight Sisters Carnita (Henry) Willis of Toledo Ohio; Ida “Peggy” (Dwelley) Cauley of Miami, Florida, Yancey Manuel of Jacksonville, FL, Sharon (Jose) Roquemore of Albany, Georgia, Cherry Cheevers, Latange Kirk, Shirley (Eddie) Heard, Valentina (Jessie) Peavy, all of Sylvester, Georgia, seven brothers John “Pepper” Manuel, Jr, Milford Brown, Sandus Manuel, Carl Manuel, Robert Rhymes all of Sylvester, Georgia, Geno (Sandra) Manuel of Miami, Florida, Milton Brown of Warner Robins, Georgia, Ellis Brown of Virginia; six Grand Children LaMauria Lyles, ZiKerrion Jackson of Moultrie, Georgia; Mahaghony Hooks of Norma Park, Georgia; Zariah Hooks of Pelham, Georgia; Quintin Hall and Kennedy Hall of Sylvester, Georgia. One sister-in-law, Mary Hooks of Sylvester, Georgia; Three brothers-in-law Calvin (Edream)Hooks, Charlie (Clora) Hooks, Willie Hooks all of Sylvester, Georgia.
