Robert B. Moss Jr., DMD, has been elected the 2013-2014 president of the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics.
He was installed recently at the College’s annual meeting in Bermuda.
Moss is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and joined the College of Diplomates in 1996. He is in private practice at 1600 Third Ave. in Albany and at 1600A E. Forsyth St. in Americus.
The College of Diplomates was founded in 1979 to stimulate improvement among orthodontists, to encourage orthodontists to become board-certified by the ABO and to educate the public and the dental profession on the benefits of board certification.
The American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) was founded in 1929 as the first specialty board in dentistry.
Kashyap H. Amin, MD, has joined Cardiology Associates, a member of Phoebe Physician Group.
Amin’s work focuses on diagnosing and treating all types of cardiology disorders, through stress testing, echocardiography, and cardiac catheterization. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the National Board of Echocardiography and is a member of the American Medical Association and the American College of Cardiology.
Amin earned his medical degree at Smt. NHL Municipal Medical College in Ahmedabad, India, as well as a degree in ophthalmology at Sheth K.M. School of Post Graduate Medicine and Research in Gujarat, India. He served three years as an ophthalmic surgeon. Amin then accepted a residency in internal medicine at Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn and completed his fellowship in cardiology at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn.
Dr. Amin and his wife, Vallari Patel, have two daughters, Mouli and Prachi.
Joe Pierce has joined AB&T National Bank as vice president and credit officer at the bank’s Meredyth Drive location.
A native of South Georgia, Joe grew up in Edison. He attended Auburn University and graduated in 1996 with a degree in finance. While in school, he interned for Draffin & Tucker as a staff accountant. Upon graduating, Joe worked for Alltel in various capacities throughout South Georgia.
His banking career began with SunTrust, where he served as a commercial real estate banker. He later joined to SB&T as a commercial banker.
An active member of First Baptist Church of Albany, Joe is married and has two daughters.
Michelle Mattox has joined the marketing department of HeritageBank of the South as marketing coordinator.
With five years of work experience in public relations, marketing, sales and journalism, Mattox will be responsible for assisting the marketing department with both internal and external communication, web development, and special event projects. Previously of the Regional Planning Commission of Greater Birmingham, Mattox earned a bachelor degree in public relations from Auburn University in 2011.
Michelle and her husband, Paul, relocated to Albany from Birmingham this July.
