ALBANY — Thomas the Tank Engine is rolling back into Southwest Georgia, giving hundreds of its tiny fans an opportunity to catch a ride.
The 2013 Day Out With Thomas offers little engineers and their families an opportunity to ride a 15-ton replica of Thomas the Tank Engine, star of the popular Thomas & Friends series.
Children will ride along with their favorite hero on his latest adventure as he pulls SAM Shortline Excursion Train at Georgia Veterans State Park, located on Highway 280 nine miles west of Interstate 75, Exit 101.
Thomas will be in Crisp County on Oct. 19-20 and 25-27. The cost ranges from $15.12 to $22.68 with riders under the age of two riding free.
The ride lasts about 25 minutes and give participants an opportunity to meet Sir Topham Hatt, controller of the railway. Family activities such as arts and crafts, storytelling, videos, live music, face painting and more are planned. The visit also features a train-themed gift shop.
