ALBANY - Ms. Debbie Clark,58, 1722 Moultrie Road, Albany, Georgia departed this life Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

A Time to be Born: The vines of sister Debbie Ashbury Byrd Clark’s life was rooted in Dougherty County, Georgia being born to Mrs. Ora Lee Miller and Mr. Ira Brown, Sr. on June 22, 1955.

A Time to Plant: She accepted Christ at an early age where she became well-grounded and grew to full bloom in Christ. She truly believed that no matter what the circumstances or situations, with God all things are possible. She attended public schools of Dougherty County. She received her Master’s Degree from Albany State University. She worked as a Human Resource Director for Turner Job Corps diligently until her health failed.

A Time to Love: She was joined in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Herman Byrd who preceded her in death. Later in life, she found love again and in March 1990, joined in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Charles Clark; to this union one child was born. She also inherited three other children in this marriage.

A Time to Die: As the sun shined and the gentle wind blew, she answered the call to come home on Sunday, September 22, 2013.

A Time of Peace: She leaves to celebrate her glorious Homegoing three daughters: Rachel Alexius Clark, Sonjas Clark Wheeler, Chandra Clark; one son: Derrick Lyons, Atlanta, GA; a devoted ex-husband: Charles Clark; a loving and devoted mother: Ora Lee (Charles) Miller; a loving father: Ira Brown, Sr.; eight sisters: Michelle (Leon) Tumblin, Barbara (Charles) Green, Cherlynne Covin, Judith Terrell, Albany, GA, Esma Nita Cook, Sybil Brown, Robin Brown, Crystal Brown, all of Indianapolis, IN; six brothers: Melvin (Cynthia) Ashbury, Atlanta, GA, Ricky Ashbury, Albany, GA, Ronnie Covin (Deborah), Grottes, VA, Ira Jr., Verner Brown, Indianapolis, IN, Roy Covin, Atlanta, GA, Charles Covin, Jr.; six aunts: Debris Rowe, Juanita Livington, Delious (Rymus) Covin, Bernice Glaze, Polly Williams, Carrie Mae Mosley; sister-in-law: Margie Clark; three brother-in-laws: Jessie (Betty) Byrd, Eldred (Stephanie) Byrd, Willie (Bobbie) Byrd; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and sorrowing friends who loved her and will greatly miss her.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. from Arcadia Baptist Church, 1214 N. Jackson Street, Albany, Georgia with Pastor, Rev. Dr. Lamar Ward and Bishop Victor L. Powell, officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Paul Baptist Church Cemetery, Sylvester Road, Albany, Georgia. The remains will lie in state at the church Saturday from 2:00 P.M until the funeral hour. The family of Ms. Debbie Clark will receive relatives and friends at 2713 Brittany Road, Albany, Georgia with Meadows Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
