Former President Jimmy Carter is scheduled to teach Sunday School this Sunday at Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains.


Central Baptist Church is celebrating its 55th anniversary of ministry in Albany on Oct. 13. Special musical guest will be the 100 voice “Shoals Praise and Worship Choir” from Northwest Alabama. Service starts at 10:50 a.m. with a covered dish lunch to follow. The program is open to anyone, but RSVP the church office at 229-436-7263 if you plan to attend.

New Mt. Holder Baptist Church is hosting its 15th annual Love Fellowship program Monday through Friday. Services are at 7:30 p.m. daily. On Monday, guests will be the Rev. Dr. Roland Jenkins Jr. and New Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Tuesday’s guests are the Rev. Mitchell Hunt and New St. James Baptist Church. Wednesday’s guests will be Elder Earlie Teemer and New Mt. Olive Worship Center. On Thursday, the guests will be Bishop Willie B. Young Jr. and The Lighthouse Church of Deliverance. Friday’s guests are the Rev. Lucious Mitchell and Macedonia and Green Grove Baptist churches.

A cemetery cleaning is planned at Turner Primitive Baptist Church in Tift County at 8 a.m. on Oct. 5. Participants should bring tools including edging, weeding and mowing equipment. The cemetery is located in the eastern edge of Tift county off Ferry Lake Road and three and a half miles north of Enigma on the Turner Church Road.
