Terrell County woman wins $10 million

Linda Walden, a 46-year-old grandmother, takes top prize in a Georgia Lottery scratch-off game

ATLANTA –The Georgia Lottery is reporting that a Dawson woman has won $10 million on one of its instant games.

Lottery officials said Angela Dawson of Terrell County took the $10 million top prize on the $10 Million Cash Spectacular game.

“I jumped up and down, and right now, I feel great,” lottery officials quoted the 46-year-old Walden as saying. “I don’t believe it. It hasn’t sunk in yet.”

Walden told lottery officials she has yet to make plans for the money, which she found she had won while scratching the ticket at home.

Lottery officials said Walden has four daughters, a son and two grandchildren.

The ticket was sold at ABC Package, 1234 Columbus Highway, in Dawson.

The Georgia Lottery Corp. says it has has returned more than $15 billion to the state of Georgia for education.
