Public safety roundup for Albany and Dougherty County

ALBANY — The Albany Police Department responded to at least 23 incidents on Thursday and the early hours of Friday, available reports show. The incidents included:

— Theft by taking on the 400 block of Meadowlark Drive, the 200 block of West 3rd Avenue, the 1900 block of South Riverview Circle, the 1000 block of Cedar Avenue, the 100 block of South Front Street, the 500 block of South Slappey Boulevard, the 500 block of South Westover Boulevard and the 1600 block of Sunny Lane;

— Theft by receiving on the 600 block of Florence Drive;

— Harassing phone calls on the 500 block of West 4th Avenue;

— Misuse of 911 telephone on the 600 block of West Highland Avenue;

— Criminal trespass on the 2800 block of North Slappey Boulevard and the 600 block of Bonnyview Avenue;

— Battery on the 1700 block of Malone Drive and the 500 block of Pinson Road;

— Forgery on the 2000 block of East Oglethorpe Boulevard;

— Burglary on the 2400 block of Beachview Drive;

— Recovered property on the 2200 block of East Oglethorpe Boulevard and the 300 block of South Mock Road;

— Disorderly conduct on the 200 block of West Tift Avenue;

— Criminal damage to property on the 2000 block of Clark Avenue and the 1000 block of 16th Avenue;

— Entering auto on the 2300 block of Sharon Drive.

ALBANY FIRE: The Albany Fire Department responded to at least 14 calls on Thursday. Calls included public service, unauthorized burning, alarm system activations, smoke detector activations, shorted electrical equipment, grass fire, passenger vehicle fire, building fire and medical assist to EMS.

DOUGHERTY EMS: The Dougherty Emergency Medical Service responded to 63 calls on Thursday. The calls included 49 medical calls and 14 trauma calls.

The medical calls included six respiratory issues, four chest pain complaints, three faintings, two mental health issues, two miscellaneous pain complaintss, one diabetic issue, one seizure, one cardiac arrest and 28 various medical calls.

The trauma calls included five auto accident victims, five falls and two lacerations.
