ALBANY - Mr. Jay Paul Elwood, 86 of N. Hilltop Dr. in Albany died April 5, 2014 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital North.
Funeral services will be Wednesday 2:00 PM at Oakview Cemetery in Camilla, GA. Rev. Ken Chancellor officiating.
A native of Delhi, NY, Mr. Elwood has lived in Albany since 1969 where he was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church and was retired as a Georgia Department of Agriculture Meat Inspector with 19 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion, Christian Motorcycle Association, Goldwing Road Riders and was a member of the Golden K Kiwanis Club. He volunteered at Phoebe Putney memorial Hospital and the SOWEGA Council on Aging Meals-On-Wheels program. Mr. Elwood served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam retiring with 20 years of service as Master Sergeant.
Mr. Elwood was preceded in death by his parents, William T. and Vida Krantz Elwood and a son, Jay Paul Elwood, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Elwood of Albany.
