VALDOSTA — It may not be “home” exactly, but it’s pretty close.

Season 11 “American Idol” winner Phillip Phillips, the Leesburg singer most closely associated with his chart-busting single “Home,” will be playing fairly close to his hometown — about 90 miles — on Saturday when he performs at 8 p.m. at Wild Adventures near Valdosta.

“Wild Adventures is so close to Albany and we have many team members and guests with Albany ties so it feels like we are hosting a neighbor,” Wild Adventures General Manager Molly Deese said of Phillips. “It is going to be great to gather and celebrate his success together.”

After winning the “American Idol” title in 2012, Phillips released his debut album, “The World from the Side of the Moon,” in November 2012. In early March, he released the single “Raging Fire” — which he recently performed on the TBS late-night talk show “Conan” — from his sophomore studio album, “Behind the light,” scheduled for release May 19.

He just completed a tour in Canada and is set to open on June 12 a 24-concert East and Midwest tour that he will co-headline with O.A.R. That series will wrap up July 26 with a performance at Chastain Park in Atlanta. Tickets for the Phillips/O.A.R. tour go on sale Friday.

For Saturday’s show, general concert admission is included with a 2014 season pass or park admission to Wild Adventures, located at 3766 Old Clyattville Road. Reserved seats are extra. information and reservations available by visiting www.wildAdventures.com or calling (229) 219-7080.
