Former President Jimmy Carter is scheduled to teach Sunday School on Sunday at Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains.

EVENTS

Arcadia Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate its 107th anniversary April 14-20 with nightly services involving area churches and pastors. Mt. Hebron Baptist Church and the Rev. Edward Heath will be in charge of services on April 14 followed on April 15 by Union Baptist Church and the Rev. J.A. Severson, April 16 with Shiloh Baptist Church and the Rev. H.C. Boyd, April 17 with Friendship Baptist Church and the Rev. H.B. Johnson and April 18 featuring the Rev. Bill Edge. Culminating services are planned April 20 at 11 a.m. featuring Acadia Baptist Church. Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and the Rev. Melvin Blocker will be in charge of the 3 p.m. services on April 20. Guest soloists for the Sunday morning service will be Ronnie Simmons. Vonzie Cody will be guest soloist at the 3 p.m. service. The anniversary dinner is Sunday, April 20.

First Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate its annual Women’s Day on Sunday. Guest speaker will be Jamye Jaycox-Cobb of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church. The theme is “Kingdon Builders — Women of construction, Not Destruction.” Sunday School begins at 9 a.m. followed by worship services at 10 a.m.
