RICHLAND — The 2014 American Legion Post 128 Arts & Crafts Fair is scheduled for May 3, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the Richland Memorial Park, in Richland.
This year, Legion Post 128 members will also host a fish fry and yard sale, provide children’s entertainment, and handcrafted items will be for sale. This family-friendly event is free.
“This year will mark the first year that the Post has sponsored an arts and crafts fair, and we want it to be success in order for it to grow in the future. We plan on making the arts and crafts fair an annual event in order to raise money for the youth programs we have implemented and for our WWII building refurbishment,” said Commander Hank Wilson.
Wilson also noted that, “The Post building is frequently rented out to private parties as well as for community events and its due for a renovation. So we are hoping that the surrounding communities will support us in our endeavors to reach our goals.”
In addition to raising funds for youth programs, the Legionnaires serve local veterans and their spouses in a variety of needs. Post 128 is also raising money for upkeep and renovations of their WWII-era building.
Other than attending, one of the ways to support this event is to be a vendor. Both for-profit and non-profit vendors are encouraged to send in an application by Saturday. For vendor information, you can contact Hank or Peggy Wilson @ 229-887-9343.
