A woman leaving a party realizes she has been shot in the leg

ALBANY — Officers responded to call Friday night from a party where a 19-year-old woman was shot in the leg, Albany police officials said.

Officers responded to 1709 W. Oakridge Drive, The National Association of Letter Carriers, in reference to a shooting incident at 11:11 p.m. Friday. The victim, identified as Shianne Davis, 19, was attending a football team party when a fight started. As she was leaving the building, she realized she had been shot in the leg, said Phyllis Banks, spokeswoman for the Albany Police Department, based on initial reports on the incident.

Police say Davis was transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for medical treatment. A hospital spokeswoman said Monday there was no information on her condition.

The case remains under investigation, Banks said. There was no new information on the shooting Monday.
