When did America the beautiful stop feeding children at home before school?

With food stamps and welfare checks going out of the first of the month, I say why does Dougherty County at the expense of other people feed everyone free? I say this is the most ridiculous thing ever.

I walked three miles to school. My mother got up at 4 a.m. and fixed ham, grits, eggs, coffee and juice for the children. We left home at 7 a.m., walked three miles and were at school at 8 a.m. We used kerosene lamps by night to see and came out just fine.

I think in life there should be some kind of family home style. After all, your government sees that you receive benefits. I say mothers and fathers have discarded the child. That is why they can’t learn at school. It’s home life gone to the dogs.

Really, animals have taken over the home life. So be it.
