Ethel Mae Boatwight Lawson
ALBANY – Mrs. Ethel Mae Boatwright Lawson was born in Worth County, Georgia on March 13, 1944, to the late Rosa and Willie Hall, Sr.
She attended the public schools of Worth County and graduated from J. W. Holley High School where she participated in numerous school activities.
At a very young age, Ethel accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was baptized and received the “right hand of fellowship” into the body of the New Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Coverdale, Georgia.
She was united in holy matrimony to her beloved Henry Lawson who preceded her in death.
Ethel was a very loving, outgoing, and inspiring person who cared dearly for her family and friends. On Tuesday, August 5, 2014 the angel of the Lord said, “Servant Well Done.” Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three daughters, Deborah Lawson, Yolanda Lawson, and Latocca Lawson.
She leaves to cherish her memories three sons, Carnell Lawson (Audrey) of Miami, Florida, Joey Lawson (Nia) of New Jersey, and Patrick Lawson of Tifton, Georgia; two daughters, Tyanda Jackson (Frederick) of Albany, Georgia and Octavia Lawson of Tifton, Georgia; six sisters, Ophelia Denson of Woodbridge, Virginia, Diann Powell (Steven) of Leesburg, Georgia, Mattie Willis (Edwin) of Albany, Georgia, Earlene Holt of St. Pete, Florida, Peggy Brown of Sylvester, Georgia, and Linda Wallace (Gary) of Donaldsonville, Georgia; six brothers, Willie James Hall (Estella), Willie Frank Boatwright, James L. Hall all of Ashburn, Georgia, Horace Boatwright of Tampa, Florida, Michael Hall of Sylvester, Georgia, and Rayford Hall (Vanessa) of Dumfries, Virginia; twenty-three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a devoted friend and caregiver, Ruby Lewis of Albany, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and sorrowing friends.
Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 2:00 PM at New Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Coverdale, Georgia. Reverend Jerry Braswell will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held today, Friday, August 1, 2014 from 10:00AM until 8:30PM at M. L. King Southside Chapel, 1908 M. L. King, Jr. Drive. The family will receive friends at 2401 Nottingham Way Apt. 158.
