Patrick Lamar Perkins
ALBANY – Mr. Patrick L. Perkins was born in Albany, Georgia on August 29, 1964, to the late Jimmie and Addie Perkins.
He attended the public schools of Dougherty County including Monroe Comprehensive High School where he participated in multiple sports with football being his favorite.
He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and joined St. Paul Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Verlon Robinson.
Patrick was diligent in caring for his family. For many years, he worked tirelessly as a dedicated employee of the Dougherty County School System.
On August 1, 2014, Patrick departed this earthly life at the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
He leaves to cherish loving memories his wife, Gloria Perkins; three children, Kevin Jackson, Shamek Jackson, and Donnell (Monica) Smith; nine grandchildren; four brothers, Walter (Mattie) Shiloh, Jimmy (Christine) Perkins, Tony (Joanna) Perkins, and Timothy Perkins; four sisters, Diane (Alonzo) Chattmon, Iver (Husher) Smith, Lessley Johnson, and Jacqueline (Cedric) Ransom; a special aunt Clara Bell Drake; a host of aunts uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, two close and special friends Lawrence Robinson and Eva Jenkins, and numerous other friends.
Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 2605 Sylvester Road. Reverend Verlon Robinson will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetry. Visitation will be held today, Friday, August 8, 2014 from 9:00AM until 8:30 PM at M. L. King Southside Chapel, 1908 M. L. King, Jr. Drive. The family will receive friends at 2901 Sylvester Road.
