Albany man dies in Colquitt County crash

Saturday evening wreck in Colquitt County claims a life

MOULTRIE — An Albany man was killed Saturday night when the vehicle he was driving collided with another on Highway 319 in Colquitt County, officials with the Georgia State Patrol said.

Travis Roberts, a trooper with the GSP post in Thomasville, said that Terry Joe Morrison, was driving south on Highway 319 from Norman Park to Moultrie in a 2001 BMW at around 10:15 p.m. while Jordan Luke Turner, of Tifton, was driving in the opposite direction toward Norman Park in a Ford F-150. Morrison’s vehicle went off of the shoulder before going across both lanes as he overcorrected, colliding with Turner’s vehicle.

Turner’s vehicle was sent off the shoulder after it was hit. Morrison was pronounced dead at the scene, while Turner was airlifted to a hospital in Tallahassee, Roberts said.

There are no charges expected to be filed in connection to the crash. There was nothing indicating that drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the accident, Roberts said.
