ALBANY — An Albany man was arrested Wednesday on charges of arson and stalking his former girlfriend, officials say.
At around 5: 28 a.m. Wednesday, Albany firefighters arrived to battle a fire at a duplex at 1180 Clark Ave. According to an incident report from the Albany Fire Department, the blaze was extinguished in about 30 minutes.
Albany police officials say Hosea Bingham, 29, was questioned in connection to the incident because of a domestic dispute between Bingham and his girlfriend earlier at the residence. He was later charged with stalking by the Albany Police Department and also charged with arson by the Albany Fire Department, officials say.
“The arson charge comes in part from several witnesses who say they saw Bingham setting the fire,” said Sam Harris, Albany fire investigator.
