Mary Alice Baxter

ALBANY – Mary Alice Baxter was born April 2, 1935 in Geneva County, Alabama to Mr. Moses Taylor and Mrs. Hannah Taylor.

Being a longtime resident of Albany, Georgia, Mary worked as a carter and housekeeper for many families and local businesses.

On Sunday, August 17, 2014 at her residence she made a quiet transition with grace and dignity as she departed this life answering her call from God to come home.

She leaves to carry on her life and legacy with many fine memories a loving husband Bolzie (Papa) Baxter; six children, Delories Sheppard and Betty (Jesse) Davis both of Albany, Georgia, Virginia (Randolph) Craig of Atlanta, Georgia; Debra Baxter of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Billy (Barbara) Sheppard and Bolzie Sheppard both of Albany, Georgia; a special granddaughter, Aleathe (Archie) Levias of Albany, Georgia; one sister, Louella Kenndy of Albany, Georgia; two brothers Vincent (Dorothy) Taylor of Albany, Georgia and J. C. Curry of Midland City, Alabama; 17 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be conducted today, Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 2:00 PM at The Vineyard Family Worship Center, 630 Jefferies Avenue. Interment will follow in the Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery, 120 Old Pretoria Road. The family will receive friends at 504 Endicott Lane.
