Walmart shoplifters sought in Sylvester

SYLVESTER — Investigators at the Sylvester Police Department are seeking information on a black male and two black females who shoplifted around $1,000 in merchandise from the Walmart store at 1102 East Franklin Street on Tuesday.

Walmart management told officers that around 9:36 p.m. the suspects loaded a variety of unbagged items into a shopping cart which they wheeled outside the store to a silver Chrysler Pacifica in the parking lot, police officials say.

According to a report by the SPD, when the shoplifters realized they’d been followed by a Walmart employee who was observing as they loaded items to the vehicle, the trio drove away, leaving a portion of the merchandise valued at $577.44 in the parking lot.

Kenneth Washington with the SPD said a Georgia tag number was noted by a witness to the event, but release of the number is subject to further verification.

The male suspect is described as having short hair and wearing a blue button-up polo type shirt with black shoes and a black jacket.

One of the women was tall, Washington said, with brown hair in a high bun and wearing blue jeans and a black jacket.

Witnesses described the second female suspect as being “far along” in pregnancy, Washington said, with short hair, brown pants and carrying a white purse with black and white stripes.
