Joey Magaddino has joined SB&T, a division of Synovus Bank which serves Dougherty, Lee and Sumter counties, as a commercial lender.

Magaddino has more than 14 years of banking experience including loan portfolio management and branch management. He will serve in the Albany and Lee County markets.

Magaddino is a native of Albany and received a BBA in marketing from the University of Georgia. He also completed the Graduate School of Banking at LSU. He is currently on the board of directors for United Way of Southwest Georgia.

Magadinno has served on numerous organizations including Artesian City Sertoma Club, Leadership Lee and the Georgia Academy for Economic Development. He also was named to the 2012 Albany Herald 40 Under 40 in Southwest Georgia. Magadinno and his wife, reside in Lee County.


W. Ralph Rodgers Jr. and Michael Eric Hooper, attorneys with the law firm of Moore, Clarke, DuVall & Rodgers P.C., recently attended the 48th Heckerling Institute in Orlando, Fla.

The event is a leading conference for estate planning professionals including attorneys, trust officers, accountants, insurance advisors and wealth management professionals.

Rodgers is a founding partner with the law firm. Hooper is an associate attorney. Both practice in the areas of taxation, estate planning and corporate law.


Susan Copeland has joined Doherty Duggan Hart & Tiernan Insurors Account Manager.

Copeland was most recently with J. Smith Lanier. Prior to her insurance industry experience she worked with both Premier Orthopedics and Southwest Georgia Medical Center. Copeland is originally from Albany She is married to Allen Copeland and has two children.


Several Dougherty County school nutrition professionals recently attended the Georgia School Nutrition Association’s fourth annual Equipment Academy in Perry to learn about new equipment available for school cafeterias.

Attending from Dougherty were Julia Hawkins, team leader; Kim Mitchell, site supervisor; Margaret Wills, manager; Marian Tharpe, coordinator; MarKeith Paramore, site supervisor; Mary Kohn, inventory clerk, and Pamela McCray, site manager.
