ALBANY — Local chef and television host Lara Lyn Carter can now add “author” to her resume. The Albany native will sign copies of her first cookbook “Southern Thymes Shared” Saturday from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Place on the Pointe, located at 2416 Westgate Drive in Albany.
Carter currently hosts the Southern cuisine show “Savor the Good Life”, and her inaugural cookbook highlights meals featured on the program.
“Southern Thymes Shared,” showcases Carter’s original recipes she assimilated from a diverse heritage, including Cherokee and Italian-American, and includes every step needed for a successful meal, from preparation to presentation.
Carter’s cookbook also outlines complete meals for holidays, and suggests unique wine pairings with featured foods.
“Southern Times Shared” has already received much positive praise from cookbook editors, including Southern Living editor-at-large, James T. Farmer III.
Marsha Fottler, editor and publisher of Flavors and More, noted that “those who are passionate about food, friends and family will want this book.”
Aspiring and seasoned cooks can purchase a copy and meet Carter at the book signing Saturday. For more information, contact (229) 883-8585.
