VALDOSTA — Leesburg native son and “American Idol” winner Phillip Phillips has scheduled a homecoming concert of sorts this spring at Wild Adventures Theme Park.
Leesburg and Albany fans of the singer may have to travel south a ways to see him perform, but they will no doubt make the 90-mile trip to see Phillips in his first concert in the region since he won the 2012 “American Idol” competition. Phillips is scheduled to perform at the popular Valdosta theme park on April 12, one of the big shows in Wild Adventures’ 2014 concert lineup.
Phillips, who won the “American Idol” competition in May 2012, will be coming off a 15-concert tour of Canada when he performs in Valdosta. The World From the Side of the Moon Tour starts March 8 in Halifax and concludes March 28 in Vancouver, including performances in Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa along the way.
“This year, passholders have the opportunity to get the best seats to their favorite concerts on the same day that we announce the concert lineup,” Wild Adventures General Manager Molly Deese said in a news release. “Our passholders are passionate about the concerts at Wild Adventures, and this year they can get their reserved seats right away.”
