Man killed in Albany pickup truck crash

A single-car wreck in Albany leaves one dead, one injured

ALBANY — Police officials say that a man was killed Wednesday and another injured in a one-car accident on Rosebrier Avenue.

Around 1:35 a.m., the driver of a 1983 GMC 1500 truck, Costanza Williams, was traveling west at a high rate of speed when he struck a curb, lost control of the vehicle and struck several objects, officials say.

The truck caught fire before coming to rest in a residential yard on the 2400 block of Rosebrier, officials said. Williams was pronounced dead at the scene and his brother Petrocelli Williams was transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Phoebe officials said that Petrocelli Williams had been released from the hospital.

Phyllis Banks, spokeswoman for the Albany Police Department, said the circumstances of the wreck remain under investigation.
