Jacob Kennedy named a University of Georgia Foundation Fellow

ATHENS — Jacob Kennedy, the son of Jewel and Randell Kennedy of Leesburg, has been selected as a University of Georgia Foundation Fellow. Jacob is a graduate of Lee County High School.

The Fellowship was established in 1972 to enhance the educational experiences of academically outstanding undergraduate students.The Foundation provides and annual stipend of $10,780 (in addition to the Zell Miller Scholarship) and also provides full funding for numerous opportunities for national and international travel-study.

Jacob is a sophomore majoring in anthropology and will participate in the study abroad program this summer in Morocco.

Area Residents Named to the Dean’s List at Mercer University

MACON — The following students from the Albany were named to the Dean’s List of their college or school at Mercer University for the fall 2013 semester. Inclusion on this list requires students to meet rigorous grade point average standards specific to their college or school within the University:

Wesley Keaton, of Albany, a freshman, was named to the Dean’s List of the College of Liberal Arts; Candace Cook, of Poulan, a freshman, was named to the Dean’s List of the College of Liberal Arts; Haley Hubbard, of Camilla, a senior, was named to the Dean’s List of the College of Liberal Arts; Morgan Smith, of Albany, a senior, was named to the Dean’s List of the College of Liberal Arts; and Kaycie Eubanks, of Camilla, a junior, was named to the Dean’s List of the Georgia Baptist College of Nursing.
