The parish is sponsoring its first “Lap a Leprechaun 5K Race and Family Fun Walk” with the 5K beginning at 9 a.m. and Fun Walk at 9:45. Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female winners in each age bracket as well as the top winners overall. There will also be a prize for “Best Dressed Leprechaun” for adults and the “Best St. Patrick’s Day Hat” for children.
The race and walk will start and end at St. Patrick’s Church at 4800 Old Dawson Road. Entry fees are $10 for the one-mile Fun Walk; $25 early registration for the 5K race through March 1st, $30 after March 1st; or $30 combined for the Fun Walk and 5K by March 1st, $35 after March 1st. Same day registration is available and will begin the day of the race at 8:30.
T-shirts will be given to all 5K participants who register by March 10th and to those registering after March 10th as available. After the 5K and Fun walk, and included in the registration fee, the church will host a green, leprechaun-themed breakfast.
