ALBANY — The Dougherty County Police Department, in conjunction with Central Monitoring, Crime Stoppers and local neighborhood watch groups in the community, will host a Crime Prevention Basics seminar at the downtown Government Center March 15.
The county police department and members of the Albany Police Department will offer a presentation on how citizens can best protect their homes, identity, money, property and vehicles.
“We’ve invited all neighborhood watch groups in the community and encourage other property owners to attend this important session,” DCP Chief Jackie Battle said Monday morning at the Dougherty County Commission’s work meeting. “It’s an opportunity for different groups to meet and greet and share ideas.”
The seminar will be conducted in Room 100 of the Government Center at 222 Pine Ave. Refreshments will be served and door prizes awarded. The event kicks off at 1 p.m.
The Crime Prevention Basics seminar is also being sponsored by Albany 311, Lowe’s, Short & Paulk, Dougherty Commission Chairman Jeff Sinyard and Commissioner John Hayes.
