Longtime Southwest Georgia print and TV journalist Ed Lightsey dies

ALBANY — Longtime journalist Ed Lightsey, of Albany, has died, friends have confirmed.

Rachelle Bitterman, an official with the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce and a friend of Lightsey, said he passed away Thursday.

Lightsey was a senior correspondent for state business magazine Georgia Trend and had written a number of freelance articles in recent years for various magazines, newspapers and other publications, including The Albany Herald.

Prior to that, Lightsey was employed for a number of years at the WALB-TV news department.
