ALBANY — Official of the Albany Police Department have confirmed that Dorian “Tye” Revills, a person of interest in the slaying of Shakelia P. Williams on Thursday, is being questioned by homicide detectives.
Phyllis Banks, spokeswoman for the APD, said Revills had been detained at the Law Enforcement Center on West Oglethorpe Boulevard for an interview, but had not been charged with any crime.
Officers of the Albany Police Department were called to Westwind Apartments on Dawson Road Thursday afternoon in reference to shots being fired, officials say, where officers found a deceased woman. The victim was identified as Williams, 31, who was found in the courtyard near the W building of the complex.
Early indications are that Williams died as a result of one or more gunshot wounds, Banks said, but an autopsy will be performed to confirm the cause of death.
