ALBANY — After being crowned 2013 National American Miss Georgia Princess Cover Girl earlier this summer, Albany’s Parrish Starling is now the National American Princess Covergirl thanks to winning the national pageant in Anaheim, Calif. the week of Thanksgiving.
Starling, a second grader at Lamar Reese Elementary School, was competing in just her second pageant of the year when she took top honors in the 4-7 year old age group.
“I’m a really happy dad,” said Parrish’s father David Starling. “I coach tee ball with her and it seems like everything she tries, she blows up in.”
David Starling said that while Parrish will continue to compete in pageants in the future, the national competition was the last she’ll compete in until she’s finished with second grade this spring.
“She’s an honor student and right now it’s time to focus on academics,” David said. “Academics is part pageants too, so that’s her focus right now.”
David said Starling will compete in the American Covergirl Princes pageant again in 2014 as well as attending a pageant she’s been invited to in Pensacola this coming November.
