AMERICUS — The Rylander Theatre in Americus is set to host its annual fundraising gala on Saturday. This year’s theme is “I love the 80’s” and will feature renowned tribute band, “The Breakfast Club,” in concert.
Beginning at 8 p.m., Rylander Theatre patrons will be treated to the sights and sounds of the 1980’s with live music and a raffle. Attendees are encouraged to dress in 80’s attire, but it is not required.
“This is the party of the year and you don’t want to miss it,” said Rylander Managing Director, Heather Stanley. “The holidays are over and people tend to have less on their plate by mid-January, which makes it the perfect time to throw a big themed party.”
“The Breakfast Club” is the longest running, most recognized ‘80’s tribute band in the country, which plays music from every popular genre of the decade, including Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Michael Jackson, Hall & Oates, Journey and more.
All proceeds from this concert will benefit the programming and preservation of the theatre. Complimentary tickets with membership do not apply to this event, but group discounts are available. Tickets are $25 reserved seating and are available online at rylander.org or by calling the box office at (229) 931-0001 Tuesday — Friday, 11 a.m. — 4 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door, but buying in advance is highly recommended for premium seating.
