Suspect sought for Albany hit and run assault

Driver injures two people outside bar

ALBANY — Officers of the Albany Police Department responded to a hit-and-run incident at an Albany bar on Thursday.

Officials say that around midnight an argument occurred inside Coach’s Bar and Grill, 2610 Dawson Road, after which a suspect identified as Gary Potter entered his white Chevrolet Malibu and appeared to intentionally strike two people outside the bar.

Phyllis Banks, spokeswoman for the APD, said both victims, Jessica Paris, 27, and Tony Harrell Sr., 59, were transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for treatment. According to hospital officials, Harrell was released after treatment for minor injures. The nature of Paris’ injuries are undisclosed, but serious, say hospital officials. Her condition had been upgraded to “fair” on Friday. The APD is actively seeking Harrell, officials say, who is charged with two counts of aggravated assault.
