ALBANY —Reports from the Albany Police Department show there were two aggravated assaults on Sunday involving gunfire, one of which also involved a theft.

Police responded to 1201 W. Waddell Ave. at around 3 p.m. on Sunday in reference to one such incident. The victims, three individuals ranging from ages 12 to 16, said they were walking down the street when the suspect walked out of an abandoned home and started shooting at them, said Phyllis Banks, spokeswoman for the APD.

The victims stated they dropped their orange bicycle and ran off. The suspect then walked over and took the bike. No injuries were reported and no arrests were immediately made, Banks said.

Another incident took place at around 2 a.m. earlier that day at 805 Cardinal Grove Court. In that incident, a 34-year-old man reported that, while he was sleeping on his sofa, someone kicked in his back door and discharged an unknown type of firearm inside his home, Banks said.

The suspects in the latter case were described as two black males wearing all black. Nothing was taken from the home and no injuries were reported. No arrest has been made on Monday and the case remains under investigation, Banks said.
