Arrest warrant issued in Moultrie murder case

Suspect being sought in Danny Hill homicide

MOULTRIE — Officials with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation have confirmed that an arrest warrant has been issued in connection to the murder of a Moultrie man earlier this month.

The Albany Herald was unable to reach anybody by phone at the GBI office in Thomasville on Monday, but did get an email reply from Steve Turner, special agent in charge at that regional office, confirming an arrest warrant has been issued in connection to the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Danny Hill on Jan. 10.

A response confirming the identity of the suspect in question was not received by press time, but reports from The Moultrie Observer identify the individual as Bonny Lee Lewis, who along with Hill, has faced drug charges in the past, the publication reports.

Officers were called out to 816 Eighth Ave. S.E. in Moultrie at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 10 to find Hill dead of an apparent gunshot wound. Agents initially said they were still investigating a motive in the shooting.
