SYLVESTER — The drug unit of the Sylvester Police Department has confirmed the arrest on Saturday of Byron Cortez Marshall, 51, on drug-related charges.

Lt. Ronnie Graddy, investigation division commander of the SPD, said that at 12:54 p.m. Saturday, Sylvester drug agents, assisted by officers of the Sylvester and Poulan police departments, conducted a search warrant at 223 E. Lee St., Marshall’s address.

Police officials say that approximately seven ounces of marijuana and $756 in cash were discovered inside the residence. Marshall was arrested without incident and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, then transported to the Worth County jail, Graddy said.
