Col. Allen West to speak at Lincoln Day event in Lee County

LEESBURG — Col. Allen West, former member of the U.S. House of Representatives and a Fox News contributor, will be guest speaker at the annual Lincoln Day Dinner on Feb. 27 in Lee County.

The event is planned for 6 p.m. at The Bindery at Oakland Library, which is located at 445 Oakland Parkway just off U.S. 82 West in Lee County.

Tickets are $50 a person and can be obtained by calling (229) 883-7771 or (229) 594-2177. Tickets also can be obtained by visiting the website BTG-foundation.org or at the Lee County Chamber of Commerce or at Heldenberg Auto, 881 U.S. Highway 19 in Leesburg.

The event is sponsored by Bridging the Gap in Georgia and the Lee County Republican Party.

The joint fundraiser is being held to support American military members who are returning from active duty and transitioning back into civilian life.

West, a Georgia native, represented Florida’s 22nd Congressional District. He is a contributor to Fox News and served in both Operation Desert Storm and Operation Desert Shield.

His book, “Guardian of the Republic,” is set for release in April.
