ALBANY –The annual Daddy Daughter Dance is set for 6 p.m.-10 p.m. Feb. 7 at the Albany Civic Center.
The event, which is for girls up to age 18 and their male role models, includes dancing, snacks and other activities.
Doors open at 5 p.m. for photos. Every girl attending will receive a gift. Their escorts may choose to purchase a ring for their date and take part in a special promise ring ceremony.
Advance tickets are $35 per couple plus $10 for each additional daughter. They may be purchased at any one of the three benefitting organizations. Tickets at the door will be $45 per couple plus $10 for each additional daughter.
The Daddy Daughter Dance is a benefit equally supporting three local organizations: Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia, Girls Inc. of Albany and Flint River Habitat for Humanity. The mission of each of these organizations focuses on the health and well being of children and their families.
The goal for this event is to strengthen the relationship between girls and their fathers and other male role models, a relationship that organizers say helps girls overcome risk factors and become healthy, well-adjusted adults.
