An answer to The Squawkbox question: What is the difference between communism and socialism?

The difference between communism and socialism as practiced in this country is the left-wingers who are communists are ashamed to admit it. Thus, they have taken to calling themselves socialists.

The left-wingers who are socialists are ashamed to admit it. Thus, they have taken to calling themselves liberals.

Then both groups call anyone who might disagree with them cruel, heartless or racist degenerates living in the past.

Don’t be dumb and blind. Open your eyes. I n this country, you currently have a choice, not between liberalism and conservatism, but between capitalism and communism. Choose wisely. One leads to hardship, responsibility and rewards. The other leads to misery, spitefulness, class warfare and, eventually, a cold, pitiless death.
