WARREN D. GRANT: Gun foes stoop to scare tactics

LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Former New York mayor wants guns ownership banned

When something has been tried and proven not to work, what makes people think that just because some time has passed that it will now work? We have so many laws on the “books” that we don’t even know what they are.

Michael Bloomberg, former mayor of New York City, has a ton of money and is going to spend $50 million of it to try to get a gun ban law enacted, all the while not owning a gun but having armed security 24/7. How many law-abiding citizens will become criminals because they have better sense than to turn in their guns? Reason will not prevail, so Mr. Bloomberg has to resort to scare tactics and outright lies. Case in point is a video showing a girl finding a gun and then shooting her brother with the caption, “Scenes like this happen all the time,” How many times have you heard of this happening?

The N.R.A. tells of Mr. Bloomberg’s strategy, which is to terrify women and go after them for votes. Moms are afraid their children will be taken away from them and this is explosive to a mother who is easily swayed over the safety of her children. Lies, deceit amd false innuendos will be the norm as long as the end is accomplished.

If you want to stay up to date on the infringement of our right to bears arms, you may want to consider one of the staunchest allies to the Second Amendment, the N.R.A. and join forces with it. Bloomberg is so narcisstic that he is quoted as saying, “I am telling you, if there is a God, when I get to heaven I’m not stopping to be interviewed. I am heading straight in. I have earned my place in heaven. It’s not even close” (from the American Rifleman). More later as your world turns.
