Albany-Dougherty County Police/Fire/EMS reports — July 9, 2014

Public safety round-up for Monday and Tuesday

ALBANY — The Albany Police Department responded to at least 26 incidents on Monday and into the early hours of Tuesday, available reports show. The incidents included:

— Simple battery on the 600 block of 10th Avenue;

— Theft by taking on the 2600 block of Dawson Road and on the 500 block of Porter Lane;

— Burglary in the 1st degree on the 1200 block of West Second Avenue;

— Theft by deception on the 1000 block of 11th Avenue;

— Criminal trespass on the 500 block of Dorsett Avenue and on the 2900 block of Madeline Road;

— Forgery in 1st degree on the 1700 block of East Oglethorpe Boulevard;

— Theft by shoplifting on the 200 block of Cordele Road;

— Assault on the 900 block of West Society Avenue;

— Wanted person on the 200 block of Cordele Road;

— Theft by shoplifting on the 200 block of Cordele Road;

— Criminal damage to property in the 2nd degree on the 1000 block of Cedar Avenue;

— Financial transaction card fraud on the 800 block of Flint Avenue;

— Disorderly conduct on the 600 block of Dorsett Avenue;

— Reckless conduct on the 300 block of North Slappey Boulevard;

— Entering auto on the 2500 block of Kenilworth Drive.

DOUGHERTY POLICE: The Dougherty County Police Department responded to at least 14 calls on Monday, available reports show. The incidents included:

— Animal call on the 1400 block of Liberty Expressway and at the intersection of Old Pretoria Road and South Westover Boulevard;

— Assist motorist on the 5900 block of Hardup Road;

— Criminal trespass on the 800 block of South County Line Road;

— Theft on the 200 block of Pinson Road;

— Traffic stop/arrest on the 1000 block of West Oakridge Drive;

— Harassing phone call on the 100 block of Doris Drive;

— Suspicious person on the 3000 block of Fleming Road;

— Motor vehicle theft on the 3600 block of Oliver Drive.

ALBANY FIRE: The Albany Fire Department responded to at least 12 calls on Monday and early Tuesday, available reports show. The reports included EMS assistance, a cooking fire, vehicle accidents, building fires, an unauthorized burning and a gas leak.

DOUGHERTY EMS: The Dougherty Emergency Medical Service responded to a total of 60 calls on Monday. There were 51 medical calls, eight trauma calls and one assistance call for the Albany Fire Department.

The medical calls included, but were not limited to, six chest pains, five respiratory issues, five miscellaneous pains, two mental health issues, two OB/labor issues, one fainting, one seizure, one altered mental status, one cardiac arrest and 26 various medical calls. The trauma calls included six auto accident victims and two falls.
