Two Albany CAP cadets receive Mitchell award

Frich, Chase-Hill honored during ceremony

ALBANY — Two cadets with the Albany Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol received the prestigious Mitchell Award during ceremonies Monday evening at Southwest Georgia Regional Airport.

Receiving the honors were Anthony Amir Chase-Hill and Gregory Frich. Participating in the ceremony were Col. Donald Davis, commander of Marine Corps Logistics Base-Albany, and Base Sergeant Major Kenneth Agee. Frich and Chase-Hill also were promoted to the rank of cadet second lieutenant.

Zachary Hutcherson also was promoted to the rank of cadet staff sergeant during the ceremony.

Also, citizenship awards also were presented to the two Mitchell Award recipients by Ernest Elmore, commandant of Albany Marine Corps League, and Jerry Smith of the Albany Marine Corps League.

During the CAP regular meeting Monday evening, all cadets in the Albany Squadron received leadership training from Davis and Agree.
