Carter to teach Sunday School at Plains church


Former President Jimmy Carter is scheduled to teach Sunday School on Sunday at Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains. The lesson will begin at 10 a.m., but doors to the sanctuary will open at 8:30 a.m.


Cray Chapel Church will host a four-day SWAG (Serving, Worshipping and Admiring God) Youth Explosion on July 23-26. Vacation Bible School will be conducted July 23 and 24 from 6-8:30 p.m. at the church, which is located at 1918 Oakhaven Drive. A youth revival is planned at 7 p.m. on July 25. On July 26, the church will host workshops and a block party beginning at 10 a.m. Registration begins at 9 a.m.

Revival is planned at Arcadia Missionary Baptist Church Wednesday through Friday. The church is located at 1214 N. Jackson St. Guest minister will be the Rev. James R. Edwards, pastor of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Baconton.

Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate its annual Family and Friends Day Sunday. The church is located on Ben Arthur Road in Dawson. The program begins with Sunday School at 10 a.m. followed by the worship service at 11 a.m.
