Dinner and gospel sing to benefit Newton child

NEWTON — A benefit will be held Saturday for Jack Tucker, who is the son of Jeff and Deanna Henderson. The event will take place at the Baker County Assembly of God, located at 3836 Travelers Rest Road in Newton.

Dinner will be served from 4 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. A gospel sing will follow at 6 p.m. and will feature Mandy Harrell, Kelley Family, Stephanie Sheffield, Rev. David Wolfe and more.

New Life of Albany to host VBS

ALBANY — New Life of Albany, located at 1200 Cordele Road, will host Vacation Bible School this week, Monday thru Friday. Registration will be held from 6 – 6:30 p.m. each night.

This year’s VBS theme is “Salvation Station,” and activities will last from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Children ages 4-12 can participate in arts and crafts, music and Bible study activities. A class for adults 18 and older will also be available, where participants will study the book of Ephesians.

Nursery care will be provided for children ages 3 and under.

MCLB-Albany announces dates for ‘Mud Run’

MCLB-ALBANY — Marines and civilians from Marine Corps Logistics Base-Albany, Marine Corps Logistics Command and other organizations at the base have announced the third annual Dirty Devil Dog Mud Run, to be held at the base on Nov. 22.

The Mud Run introduces members of the community to a Marine Corps-style 5K course run, complete with obstacles, challenges and plenty of mud. The purpose of the event is to provide a fun, healthy and wholesome athletic event for military personnel, family members and civilians of the base and local community.
